Programs

The Red River Lyric Summer Festival has two tracks of study:

Young Artist Program

For more advanced students and professionals.

Singers admitted to this program will sing roles in the productions, in addition to being invited to participate in master classes and other training opportunities.

Studio Program

For all singers looking to broaden their skills and prepare for auditions in a nurturing yet intensive environment.

Participants will understudy roles and sing chorus in the staged productions. Master classes and lessons are an integral part of this program.


Application Deadline

Application deadline is March 1, 2023. You will be notified of acceptance by May 1, 2023.
Applications may be accepted after the deadline. Casting will begin January 15 and will be ongoing until all roles are cast.

Application Fee

The $5.00 application fee on YAP tracker may be paid with a Credit Card. Applications will not be considered until the fee has been received.


Tuition & Fees

Young Artist Tuition: $2,850 (includes housing)
Studio Artist Tuition: $ 2,350 (includes housing)

Scholarships are available but limited.  Please indicate need for assistance in your application email.

Please pay the aforementioned application fee of $5.00 with submission of your materials.
Deposit of $500 is due upon acceptance of assignments and is non-refundable.
The full tuition must be paid by May 15, 2023.


Housing

Housing for the program includes campus insurance and linens. (Linens by request only) Food is available (but limited) on campus for an additional cost.  

The Midwestern State University dorms provide single bedrooms with shared living space (2 residents). Each living room is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. There is a kitchen available for use in the lobby of the building.


Internships Available

TECHNICAL & DIRECTING INTERNSHIPS

Aspiring stage directors, designers and stage managers are encouraged to apply.  The interns will participate in the workshop, assist the directors and coaches, and have possible directing responsibilities supervised by workshop staff. Lighting designers will assist in the design of all performances.

Collaborative Piano Internship

Pianists will accompany rehearsals and lessons.  This is a great way to build repertoire and develop a performing and teaching résumé!  Some interns may be involved in scenes performances and staging rehearsals.
